Biography

John is obviously known most for founding the sixties Hall-of-Fame band, the Lovin' Spoonful. As America's answer to the British invasion, the band enjoyed great success with several chart-topping hits, including "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind," "Summer in the City," and, of course, "Do You Believe in Magic." Sebastian also had a #1 hit in 1976 with the theme song from the television show, Welcome Back, Kotter. Since then, he has remained active as a performer, T.V. host, and educator.
