Biography
"Steady Rollin'" Bob Margolin took up the guitar at age 15 and soon traced the path of his hero Chuck Berry's influence back to the blues, particularly the music of Muddy Waters. At age 24, he was hired to be Waters' new guitarist, where he played on the Grammy-winning Muddy Waters Woodstock Album and was featured in the Martin Scorcese-filmed Muddy Waters concert The Last Waltz. Margolin signed with Alligator Records in 1993, to release Down in the Alley. Since that time, Margolin has toured extensively both as an artist and as supporting player for the likes of B.B. King, Dr. John, Little Feat, Buddy Guy, Ronnie Earl, Koko Taylor, Keb' Mo', and Hubert Sumlin, to name just a few. In 2005, Margolin received the W.C. Handy Award for Best Instrumentalist, Guitar.
